Mk4 steering fault

Postby jodder » Tue Aug 22, 2017 11:09 am

Hi folks, l have the transit bus auto 92, 2.0 pinto.
I have just fitted a re- con steering rack to it, everything's in the right place, fresh fluid etc.
It feels like van should feel that has no power steering as standard, so really quite tight.
Has anybody else out there had this ? Or have l picked the only dud in town ?
Thanks in advance.

Is the belt tight :?: I know on the diesel transits it's hard to get it tight enough to not slip.
Is the pump working as it should :?: could be worn out.

Also with it jacked up and engine running have you worked it lock to lock to bleed the air out the system also it is not unheard or for recon parts not to be done right I have seen recon racks that all they have done to them is put new gaters and a coat of paint straight out of a breakers yard hope you have a good one
