Is a MK6 bigger than MK5 LWB? Am I making the right choice?

Postby soulysurfer » Wed Sep 06, 2017 8:12 pm

I've spent loads of money on my LWB transit... Rust, starter motor, vacuum pump seal... You name it. I've had enough of it to be honest. So i'm buying a mk5 smiley LWB... I want to run bio diesel like i did in my old one before it died of rust. So please tell me... Is the MK5 size inside much smaller than the MK6? and am i making the right decision?

Its rust free, the banana engine, non turbo... and i've been told i can put a turbo on it If i want to.

Thoughts would be much appreciated

it'll run on lard if the weather is warm enough in the summer :D

Depending on how much weight you're carrying turning the pump up a bit is usually enough
without going down the turbo route. :)

Thanks for the info guys!

I just travelled for 16 hours yesterday to go get it. £650
140,000 miles.

Its good condition for its age... but sh*t me its gonna need some welding still before MOT in February.

Quite a bit smaller than mine - just found out about the hicube. hmmmm...But maybe I can make do.

Anyone here know some really talented and good value welders around South Wales/Bristol/South West area? I really can't be bothered to do the welding work myself this time!
