Help none starter

Postby halla » Sat Sep 23, 2017 3:09 pm

I put my van back together and it won't start. New starter. found I had not plugged the pats back in. I have been checking and checking finding little things. Biggest was the oil pressure switch left unplugged. Still not starting.

Mk5 SWB 120 1999 Petrol. I have taken the lpg out. Lots of cables, worried that I may have taken the wrong wire out.

It turns over very strong, but will not start. Called AA fuel rail is full and electrics working. He checked ecu all seems like it should fire, AA is stumped.

The pats is blinking as usual. Turn key and light stays red for three seconds then off.
Dash lights up with the battery symbol and oil can.

Checked fuses seem ok.

Any ideas welcome!

Anything at all, but not firing up, or nothing at all? Sparks?

I've seen this 2 or 3 times over the years, and every time it has been HT lead related; either put back in the wrong order, or one place out of sync

We tried cold start down the air pipe, it started for a second.

I'll recheck the ht leads.

I checked leads,plugs all ok.

I'm thinking I need a new/used wiring harness.
Of taking the dash out to see if I have unplugged anything, around the ecu connector.

Decommissioning the vialle lpg system, meant taking wires out of the ecu. The cel doesnt light up,

Any advice welcome
Ian

Took dash out everything looks correct.

God I need to learn electrics,
Anyone got a petrol breaker.
Or a petrol 2.0 dohc I can have a look at. I need to see the wires coming out of the ecu in the engine bay or
Learn to read electric diagrams. I'm thinking the ldv manuals on eBay might have them.

Again any suggestions welcome
Thanks
Ian
