immobilizer and engine swap

Postby therigsmith » Thu Nov 16, 2017 1:45 am

Right goner stick a UK engine in a Portuguese van.

Portuguese 9 seater van seems to not have immobilizer. Not sure where the key and ignition stuff for the UK van is.

Is my PT van bypassed or built without. How will I go about the swap.

if its a late engine there's an immobilizer on the back of the fuel pump which can be removed, if yours is a turbo engine i would swap the fuel pump over from yours

Cool stuff. I can see now where my Portuguse transits pump has been messed about with an angle grinder and few crimp connectors hehe. Just copy that to my UK engine and boom.

If its a non turbo as said you may need to remove immob module from the back of the pump.

If they are both a Lucas EPIC turbo then just bolt the engine in with the pump.

Some portugese turbo transits have a factory bosch injection pump (a 154 pump) - if you have this fit to the new engine.
