Hi all first time posting on here right so I have a problem with my heater on my 1999 MK5 190 pick up does not work on any speeds but the light still comes on for the switch was told could of been the resistor so I bought one fitted it yesterday still nothing checked all fuses first there all fine not sure as what else it could be obviously apart from the blower motor but I would hope it's something else any advise would be greatly appreciated
Thanks very much

check the wiring on the back of the switch, you can access it from under the dash, think you pull the vent pipe off by the clutch pedal

Hi I've had a look at all the wring at back of the switch and it all seams to be fine so it must be the fan motor I could put a 12 volt feed to the fan motor to see if it's working direct from the battery?
Thanks very much

If the resistor dies the fan works on full speed only.
Check the wiring with a multimeter to see if it's getting a 12v feed.
If the wiring and conector on the switch look ok (not burnt or melted) then
check the motor.
It's a bit of a pain BUT it will come out of the double din radio hole.

Hi the fan does not work on any speed and I have put a new resistor on and there is 12 volt going to the fan so it must be the fan motor as all of the wring on the switch look fine and it is getting 12 volt where would the best place be to source a fan motor?
Thanks very much

I got 1 years ago from TPUK.
It was still working after 5 years when the van went to another home.

check to make sure it is the motor at fault though.
