New gearbox vibration

Postby allegroequipe » Sun Nov 19, 2017 1:36 pm

I've just replaced my 180k box with a 90k box after the shaft that holds the clutch unwound itself. Lock tab had disappeared!
I fitted a new clutch and release bearing and now have an odd vibration.
I left the spiggot bearing in place as time was tight and I'll be replacing the engine when the weather warms up!
Propshaft centre bearing feels fine, spins freely and rubber is intact.
With the old box it drove ok from about 23mph in 5th with no real vibration. With this one I get the same vibration in 4th at that speed. Need to be at 30mph before going for 5th without vibration.
I've adjusted the prop bearing as far left and right as it'll go, perfectly square on and dead centre.
Feels like the new box has taller ratio's? All gear changes are slick and smooth, even engaging first when stationary (which is a change!).
Any ideas?
