1998 Mk5 2.5 Diesel

Postby Ronald Roberts » Fri Dec 08, 2017 4:43 pm

Having problem finding Throttle switch for my vehicle which will not rev over about 2000rpm and therefore will not change up the Automatic gearbox.
Would appreciate any advice please

Sounds like it's in 'limp home mode' what is the engine light doing :?:

Limp mode won't make it tickover badly, but it will limit the revs.
You need to find out why the engine light is on: common reasons are 1/ worn timing belt 2/ Faulty Electronic Switch Off Solenoid (ESOS)

Does the engine "run-on" for a few seconds when you turn it off :?:
