Ford transit van 98 model. Can’t open hood

Hi, can’t open hood .the wire must have broken and although I have taken off the front grill can’t locate the lever. So frustrating. Been at it for hours. Any help appreciated.

Try going in from under the van and use a torch and a pair of grips, or a screwdriver to pull/push the lever, or maybe cut the old cable back until you can pull on the inner.

What does not open: the main lock or the anti-emergency hook?
In the first case, you need to lie down on the ground and hand to find and press the lock lever.
In the second, use a hook made of steel wire with a diameter of 2.5 ... 3 mm, raise the hood, insert a wire hook under the hood, hook on them the bonnet's anti-emergency hook and pull it toward you.
The device, which does not allow you to raise the hood after opening the lock, I called the "anti-emergency hook".

It is on the part number 1 and is connected to the lever at number 7.

Hi, can’t access from underneath as the van is automatic and diesel. There is air con unit,oil cooler for transmission that goes right up to the top of the radiator.cant get at it from the front of the car because the oil cooler goes right up underneath the bonnet. I can get to the the second safety lock. No way to see anything.here I will try and post some pictures on here

I’ve used a mini camera ,still can find lever

FINALLY..... I’ve opened it....I took off the p/s headlight and reached in with my arm.
