ok so ive worked out i was decoding the wrong part, and i also have a J 5.14.
So the best part to buy is this....
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-TRANSI ... m570.l1313

at 4.56 that gives us about 2650 rpm , much better. So with that, we woudl also need to have the speedometer adjusted.
Km/h-------------------RPM (in Gears)
-------------------------------------------------
.............1...........2.......3..........4........5
-------------------------------------------------
10 .....1255.....723 ......473.......348 .....264
20 ....2510......1446.....945......695......528
30 .................2169....1418....1043.....792
40 .................2892 ....1891... 1390...1057
50 .........................2364.....1738.....1321
60 ..........................2836....2085......1585
70 ..................................2433......1849
80 ...................................2781.....2113
90 .............................................2377
100 ............................................2642

altho, that particular, part, is supposed to be for 14 inch rims, which probabyl means smaller tyres, so ford probabyl wnat that diff only for smaler wheels. But thats beasue they think eveyrone of them is to be driving around england.
We in perth should forget such nonsense, and if our speedometers cant be adjusted, we should just use a phone GPS app for speedometer.
But maybe it wont fit on our 5.13 (5.14) diff carriers, maybe we are only able to get the .63 as cherniy suggests.

Totally different so no good as others have said a 4.63 is the best you can have, another option is taller tyres.
I’m assuming you have 6 stud wheels and your van is a 150 or 190 model??

bugger. Thats hte different between a 300 dollar pinion and crown wheel, and an entire rebuild kit for 600 dollars.
And with that info, its not worth it.

Can you confirm which model you have?? You said a short wheel base low roof so it would have to be a 150 model assuming you have 6 stud wheels otherwise if you have 5 stud wheels then you can use that diff no problem.

Sorry you just answered that
Over here in the uk the models are 80 100 120 150 190 or 230 which broadly is the payload legally allowed in the van.

I did say broadly  but that’s the idea behind it, the 230 is gross weight 3.9 T I think. It was bought by government mostly over here, fire brigade, police etc.

so for anyone whos interested, the 4.63 Diff gives you these figures:

Km/h-------------RPM-(in-Gears)
-------------------------------------------------
-----------1--------2--------3--------4--------5
-------------------------------------------------
--10-----1274------734------480------353------268
--20-----2548-----1468------960------706------536
--30--------------2202-----1440-----1059------805
--40--------------2936-----1920-----1412-----1073
--50-----------------------2400-----1765-----1341
--60-----------------------2880-----2117-----1609
--70--------------------------------2470-----1878
--80--------------------------------2823-----2146
--90-----------------------------------------2414
-100-----------------------------------------2682

and the std 5.14 gives you these:
Km/h-------------RPM-(in-Gears)
-------------------------------------------------
-----------1--------2--------3--------4--------5--------
-------------------------------------------------
--10-----1414------815------533------392------298
--20-----2829-----1630-----1066------784------596
--30--------------2445-----1599-----1175------893
--40-----------------------2131-----1567-----1191
--50-----------------------2664-----1959-----1489
--60--------------------------------2351-----1787
--70--------------------------------2743-----2084
--80-----------------------------------------2382
--90-----------------------------------------2680
-100-----------------------------------------2978

Will be a 5.14 not a 5.11

Matt don’t complicate things

Actually, he isn't. He rather made thing VERY much clearer for me as we're talking about gear ratios: "Double propshaft revs to give diff ratio." As I lack tags on my axle and the stickers have been overpainted and/or removed AND doesn't have a tachometer I'm not sure about my own gear ratio. My propshaft rotated about two and almost a third lap at one wheel lap which made my quite confused... Now I know - 4,63:1! Thanks Matt! And sorry for interrupting you others. :)

CW&P from a mk6 (all RWD axles, excluding the DANA type fitted to TDCi) will fit a mk5 with 6 stud axles
