If there is a noticeable radial play of the camshaft pulley, it will be difficult to avoid leaking oil.
With a radial play, the camshaft does not rotate in the bearings, it precesses around the axis of rotation.
The correct, but expensive solution is to replace the camshaft and its sliding bearings with new ones.
You can look for and find an oil seal made of softer rubber.
You can shorten the steel spring by about 1 or 2 mm, which tightens the "lip" of the oil seal.
But the oil seal rubber should be soft.
I had a very old engine with a camshaft backlash, but there was no oil leak.
Now I have another motor, no backlash, but because of the bad oil seal there was a leak of oil.
I replaced the omentum, the leak stopped.
