layalog ,if there was no unqualified intervention in the fuel pump, then a leak on the gasket between the housing and the lid is extremely unlikely.
In case of leakage on the gasket, you should contact the professionals if you do not have sufficient experience of fine metalwork and do not have a gasket.
The gasket has a special shape and fits into the groove.
The normal pressure in the body of the fuel pump depends on the speed and is 5 ... 10 bar.
Your finger indicates the valve on which this pressure depends.
If this valve was unscrewed, a little fuel could get on the fuel pump housing and leave a trace that you consider a leak.
The Bosch fuel pump sometimes has a fuel leakage along the stem of the gas lever or
on the joint of the body with the divider head of the plunger pair, but these leaks do not have much influence on the operation of the motor.
Dirt into the fuel pump can not get-all the fuel passes through the filter.
But the rubber element of the cutoff valve can be destroyed.
In this case, there may be problems with engine shutdown.
Rubber pieces can cause sudden pump and motor failures, but problems with power supply to the cutoff valve are more likely.
