Yes exactly but that's not an injecter fault it's a pump or supply problem.
I just double checked solenoid with it in the pump head looking through the feed hole I can see it works correct when current is applied so I'm 100% ruling that out too.

It is difficult to find a malfunction via the Internet and Google-translator. :(
But the principle remains unchanged:
1-there is nothing to burn;
2-nothing to set fire to.
If you are convinced that there is something to burn, you should make sure that the necessary pressure (compression) is created in the combustion chambers and, consequently, the temperature. And you should make sure that the motor receives air and fuel at the right time.
There are no miracles in the world, and if they happen, every day less often. :)

Thanks Chernly_Chack for you suggestions & I appreciate the language barrier.

If anyone can suggest what might cause the injection pump to produce lower pressure at the injectors but with no visual sign of wear of failure internally that would be handy, I'm hoping the replacement of all seals will solve it but still very puzzled as to cause.

If the fuel pump is defective, it is faster and cheaper to buy a serviceable one than to repair the old one.
Unscrew the cut-off valve and remove the steel core from it.
If it helps, replace the valve.
No-replace injection pump.

Im not in any hurry, here in UK the best way to get a working pump is to buy a complete MOT failed running van & sell all the other parts so the engine is free :D
The reason I'm posting on here is because I'm intrigued to understand this fault, it's beaten me & I want to know what has caused it, I have a few other vehicles to use so not in any rush.

Any normal wear of the injection pump does not give such a picture-loss of power and then stopping the motor and its inability to start.
This is the situation of pollution of the fuel system.
But if fuel circulates freely in the fuel system, it is possible that the plunger pair in the fuel pump is worn out, and instead of the diesel fuel in the tank, it is mixed with gasoline or kerosene.
When the motor is heated, it loses power and may die out.
Starting the engine on such a fuel with a worn-out PP becomes a problem.
I wish you success!

Yes the way it stopped clearly suggested fuel not coming from pump to injectors, it had only been driven 3 miles from home so engine hadn't yet warmed up & last time I ran a Di on a kerosene mix was over 10yrs ago (with no issues), i only use diesel in this engine.
Hopfully my seals will arrive tomorrow so I will be back on the job.

I hate it when you cant find any obvious cause of the problem, I assume you gave the plunger and distributor head a good close inspection, along with the pressure regulator?

Hi Chuggy, yes I did & all looks fine & the pressure regulator internal plunger moves as it should & seals looked OK in fact the only part I found that looked in poor condition was the top one of the two throttle shaft O rings, the seal kit turned up & all the seals have now been renewed & the pump is back together & back on, good battery charge & tommorow i will have a try at running it.

A small leakage through the gas shaft is usually not the cause of the loss of power and motor stopping.
P4t,you did not mention this fuel leak.

Yes it wouldn't stop the pump working, I didn't say there was a leak there, there were no leaks anywhere, I just noticed when removing the O ring it had gone sticky that's all.
Well today it's exactly the same it won't run & I even borrowed a lift pump from a running Di just to swap it & rule that out but no difference.

Sadness ...
It only remains to replace the injection pump.
