cambelt/Chain

Postby Gertie89 » Sun Apr 01, 2018 11:34 am

Not a techie. Have recently bought 1989 Ford Transit Future (Holdsworth converted campervan)
Has 1993 CC Petrol engine. Queries -
1. How do I tell if fitted with Cambelt or Chain?
2. How do I get hold of owners manual and workshop manuals?
Any info/advice gratefully received.

Welcome :D

1993cc sounds like a Pinto single overhead camshaft engine (SOHC), in which case, it would have a cambelt.

I'm not sure if there is a petrol Transit manual, but a Sierra one (Haynes 903) will help with the engine
1994 Mk4 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (R.I.P.)
1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)
2004 Mk6 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.0 TDDi - Vantunered (Also gone)
2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

Petrol Transit book, 86-89 is Haynes no. 1468. Try Ebay.
