Very Early Turbo Di with Bosch pump?

Postby vanfox » Wed Apr 04, 2018 11:30 pm

If this is complete b******s ignore it.....I seem to recall the very early turbo Dis had a bosch pump. How was the EGR, if fitted, activated? I keep seeing stuff in the press about tougher MOT tests, all the EGR stuff must be present, tougher smoke test etc. Again, if this don't apply to Smileys all so well and good but does anyone have a definite answer.

It also seems a failure will cancel out any remaining time left on your MOT, you won't be able to legally drive home and the feds will be waiting for you if you do. I think this has been mentioned before, again comments?

The really early ones didn't have egr.

Plus EGR will not be inspected on pre 2009ish vehicles (in fact the test manual only mentions EGR on petrols

The turbochargers with Bosch injection pump were produced for Turkey.

its very hard to see the number,as it has a alloy block bolted on with a lot of thin pipes, covering the numbers, there is no vac pipe from top of pump to inlet manifold :?:

i think it was the same pump as fitted to the early non turbo engine Bosch with the cable from the thermo wax stat (which is broken in the photo)
