Found what the problem was...a split in the air intake hose to the throttle body.underneath had split badly but wasn't visible from the top.All sealed up and it goes much better now.Happy at 70 & managed 80 yesterday.Although hills are still a pain.

Been reading this with interest as have recently puchased a 1999 190 lwb camper conversion, which I'm very happy with - apart from it being so lethargic! Struggles to maintain 60 on the flat and is woeful at any kind of incline. It was even worse before I had it serviced. 76bhp, 2.5D engine.

I dont want a rocketship, just something a bit more driveable, but unfortunately I am no mechanic.

Would anyone be able recommend a garage in the Cheshire area that has good knowledge of these old diesel engines?
