Vibration on the steering wheel and dash

Postby VanPlan » Wed Jun 06, 2018 3:18 pm

Recently my vans dash and steering wheel are vibrating even in neutral, I know you get some coming through but it's really peeing me off now.

When I rev to a certain point they go away.

Any obvious signs like the mountings?

Please help as I'm in the van 10hours a day.

Bent discs on the front wheels, damage to the tires of the front wheels.
Or does the steering wheel vibrate on a standing car when the engine is running?

You might be onto something as one of my injectors is losing diesel over the top too. Mounts are ok.

Had the injectors checked and mounts checked everything is ok.

I've driven other transits but this ones vibrations are unbearable.

Any other ideas chaps

Try raising the tickover screw on the pump (or via the cable adjuster)

Tick over screw?

I've sped up the engine via the adjuster the vibrations go down but the engine runs too fast on tick over.

get new injector seals, bleed off all the injectors while engine is running (crack the bolt open until fuel pisses out then close it up) , also put about 2 bottles of redex diesel injector cleaner in half a tank, should clean the system up a bit. If just one injector is firing badly the engine feels like its going to leave the bay.
