MK3 STEERING BOX SEALS

Postby colly 695 » Thu Jul 05, 2018 11:38 am

Does anybody know where you can get replacement seals for a mk3 steering box? - or is there a sealant that i could use as a temporary fix?
Mine has a slight leak behind the pitman arm

cheers

Dont think there was a seal available ? quite common for them to "slightly" leak standard ones were grease filled & the heavy duty ones oil filled i think !

I've heard there was a seal kit for them years ago - but like hens teeth now. My box is only weeping at the minute, very slight leak of dark greyish oil - tempted to use a bit of gasket sealant or something for now as a quick fix.

Ideally I want to replace the box, but not really in a position at the minute to do so, probably next year.
