Mk5 Transit Kickdown

Hi all,

Have an issue with the kickdown system on Mk5 Transit Diesel and I'm trying to diagnose. The solenoid had snapped the plastic connector so I replaced it with an item of the same number. Since then no kickdown action although I couldn't be sure how long the other was not working for.

I am trying to find the accelerator switch and relays? Anyone have any pictures?
How do you remove the guard on the pedal?
Any other diagnosis?

Firstly run 12v to the solenoid and make sure it works. If it does then I'd suggest the kick down cable is adjusted wrong.
Iirc there are 2 types of kick down cables too, one is longer than the other. I'll see if I can get something out of the haynes book of lies.

All,

Can somebody take a picture of the kickdown relay location and configuration? Under the bonnet as there is no image in the Haynes manual.

I think the previous owner has moved the relay, I've replaced the solenoid and still nothing.
