My old DI got fed all sorts of stuff. My workshop was next door to a garage that did a lot of 'wrong fuel' repairs, and due to the costs of disposal they used to give it to me for free - if it smelt a 'bit too petrolly' I'd chuck a couple of gallons of filtered waste engine oil in with it - went about 18months without buying much diesel. The only time it objected was on very hot days, when after long journeys it would boil the fuel in the HP lines - you could hear it fizz  - and you'd have to crank it a few seconds before it would go if still very hot, was fine when allowed to cool down.

Did make winter starting a no fuss affair, disguised a shagged battery for months - til I had to put a tank of 'real' fuel in it .....

I live in a country where everything is dear, except labor. :D
I have information from the owners of Transit from Russia, exactly the same country as mine, about using aviation kerosene as fuel.
I have information on the use of "Arctic diesel fuel" for Transit in the North of Russia.
Such fuel does not contain or contains little paraffins that serve as a lubricant for a high-pressure fuel pump.
Fuel with low paraffin content leads to rapid wear of the fuel pump. It is necessary to add about 5% of oil for two-stroke engines to such fuel.
The manual on Transit permits in winter to use a mixture of diesel fuel and up to 20% of gasoline.
I think a mixture of 80% of diesel fuel and 20% of kerosene can be used in the summer.
Another point: the European standard for diesel fuel indicates a cetane number greater than 50 units.
Kerosene does not have a cetane number.
In Ukraine, kerosene costs more than diesel fuel.

It’s £1.39 GBP most places in the south of England. The £0.50 is Red Diesel price (although I think it might be a little more now)
