Mk 3 Ford Transit 1991

Postby rascalmarskell » Sun Aug 12, 2018 12:34 am

Hi. Could anyone advise on replacing the front speakers in Mk 3 (1991). I removed the trim and then the speaker, which was completely deteriorated. The speaker is attached to a metal plate and there are two wires theat have spade adapters that connect this to the stereo. I thought it would be fairly easy to just swap same size speakers in, but I’m unsure 1. If I need to remove the speaker from the metal plate or 2. Find some adapters that will hold the new ones in. I’ve looked on eBay and tried searching net for these but none of the adapters I’ve found are even remotely the same shape as the metal plate. Never had to replace speakers before so please be kind if I’m being a bit daft. Thanks in advance :D
