To be honest I’ve never used a torque wrench on a rocker box gasket after 40 plus years you just get the feel for it

Right I think I have finally got to the bottom of this.

My bolt holes in the rocker case were bent inwards from overtighting. So I have hammered those flat again.

Also I have noticed that the rocker shaft continues to seep oil for hours after the engine has been switched off. So oil has been seeping underneath the gasket while the sealant was curing and messing up the seal.

I have broken my cork gasket now trying to remove it so I'm going to fit another rubber one with the holes drilled to 8mm.

If this doesn't work, I have another cork on order then if that doesn't work I'm going to drive it into the sea and be done with it.
