Blown sump gasket

Postby troyscully » Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:42 am

Hello,
My transit van 100 1998 2.5d has got a blown sump gasket and pouring out oil when running. I noticed that my backs doors have speckled oil on them
What is causing this problem? How to solve this issue?
Thanks in advance!

The problem can be solved by replacing the pan gasket with a new one.
But I don't think that the problem is in the gasket, perhaps the crankshaft and/or camshaft seals are faulty.
But if the problem is still in the gasket, then there can be two reasons for its rupture: the pallet mounting bolts were loosely tightened or they were tightened too tightly.
