Yeh it is a rare one. seems to support the electronic mondeo dash by the looks of it.

One question, now that I know where the solenoid is. Is it easy to remove / fit?

smart van, hardly no rust at all, small tiny titchy patches here n there (like the very top if the roof on the rear tailgate).

Don't know what engine model it is, all I know is that it's a 2.5 Turbo Diesel. It was Ex london transport, hence why theres a tailgate, its a LWB medium roof, as you can see. The wheel Trims are taken from a ford transit connect (guy from supplier put alloys on his and these were surplus to requirements) so got these free.

Also as in the pictures, theres been a dual battery mod done by London Transport and does indeed work fine, when battery 1 was depleated it still fires up and runs like every other transit should and vice versa. so definately handy that one. (battery life lasts for ever, only ever changed betteries once, and that was when 1 and 2 were dead).

also know that the EGR has been bypassed, aages ago dad was working somewhere and the guy services transits, so whilst he was fitting his flooring he did some light servicing to the van, like oil topup, auto transmission fluid topup, and bypassed the EGR.

Ideally I'd like now (after fixing the small issues it has), is to do the following small things to it:

swap clocks to mondeo
mesh the front grille w/badge still
add some form of fog/bumper light(s)
swap the seats as the arm rest's are broken and fabric is worn + missing headrests.
lastly change the colour of the grey dashboard and door cards to black. (probably paint)

aside from that it's a good van, never really had any issues with it. would rather keep this Mk5 than get a new van.

Problem.

Stop solenoid is inside that fuel pump, can't get it off, and too much hassle.
Also it's got an immobalizer fitted, and the key is almost worn out, course we don't have the red master key, to reprogram it.

So is there any way to bypass the PATS? and to swap this ruddy fuel pump for something else :?: say a bosch :?: If there is, I'd be greatful if someone can do it ASAP, since the curren't solenoid triggers off the engine light and therefore triggers limp mode, i can stop n start and the light goes out but its only after a short while before another start causes it to come on again. It's a working van and its needed to goto work effectively :).

PM Minormatt I think he's Southampton and know's what he's on with, and may be able to help :wink
Am pretty sure you can't bypass PATS on an EPIC. only way is to dump it and convert to manual Bosch pump, though you will have to think about a seperate immobiliser as you won't have one.

I wasnt aware there was method to bypass the pats on an epic either :(

an R reg wont have a red key, if you have 2 unique black keys you can program new ones in.

If you do get stuck I could probably come over and swap to a bosch pump, but you would need to provide a suitable one, thats also on the basis that im not a professional mechanic and accept no liability if it all goes wrong. A new cambelt would also be needed

it looks like this may be the sort of pump required, ask what the long line of small numbers is, if it ends in 145 or 146 it will be the right one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-TRANSIT-INJE ... 1|294%3A50

but they wont post :( (they might if you ask?)

And there is this one a bit more local and pricey that will, its already been relisted once so may take an offer?

don't care about liabilities! if it goes wrong it goes wrong, not going to hold you responsible, fact is it is broke and needs fixing so.. :D

how much you want for it?

i'll happily look for a bosch pump no problem. is there a good pic diagram? (will look in the info section). then i'll go grab one.

So black key does programming!?

will try it!

you need 2 black keys (which arnt clones of each other!)

what I do have here is a new (gen ford) ignition barrell with 2 chipped keys and 1 wallet key which could solve the key issue?

Only thing is I dont know off hand how to program new keys in

If your about I might be able to drop over this evening and have a look for you? Only thing is im totally and utterly skint and a diesel contribution would be very much appreciated.

After that im not about until the weekend and away the whole week after that.

On the side of the pump near to the back will be some numbers stamped in a box.
You will need a 0460 414 145 686-2 or 146 or even a 141 will get you away
