i would have thought that the only difference would be the beam axle and independant axle ie leaf spring coil spring

Beams have a steering box, No UJ's on a box

the mk3's did tho Alan - mk1/2 never had them but they inttroduced them on mk3 - reason was the top half of the column was the same swb or lwb they just joined them to the box with a uj

and yeah the difference in the lengths is the ifs and the beam axles ones all the others mk3(swb)/4/5 fit each other
