You press the brake and accelerator down hard, turn the ignition to pos2 and wait till the light flashes (high spec clocks say resetting)

Out of interest, what's the difference? Ok mileage intervals maybe but the procedure would be the same surely?

What triggers the service light to come on? A set mileage since it was last reset? Mine has only done 3-4K since last service at Ford

It's a mileage counter, unless it's a 140 or 200 with oil sensor

Been fine over last few days. I'm guessing the service light came on due to mileage, not oil quality? I would guess it does both?

Have also checked oil level & toped up approx 2L
It's spot on now.

Could the service light be on for some other reason ??
Do any filters etc etc have end of life sensors on them or anything like that.
I did a long journey for me 200 miles the day before the sevice light spanner came on.
Cannot seem to reset it.

Help.......... LOL

As I have just changed my MK7's oil & filter - no service indicator showing - I though I'd try to reset it so it won't come on too early
Mine is a boggo spec so just a flashing spanner came up, not sure if I actually reset it - anyone know if it can be before it actually shows ?
Also what is the supposed oil change interval ? Haynes says 7500 miles ?
