Years ago all transits with the begining of the VIN no SFA was U.K. built (sweet fanny adams) on dagenham plant manager told me. And VIN Nos WFO was european built, but now all begin with WFO, some one on here will be able to enlighten us all why.J.L.

All rear wheel drive mk6 & mk7 transits were are built in Turkey, transit connects are all built in Turkey & front wheel drive mk7 are built in Southampton, there might be a few built elsewhere but I'm pretty sure thats how it breaks down unless someone else can enlighten us

Only part that is correct about that statement is the bit about the connect.

would be nice to be enlightened as to how incorrect I am about Rear wheel drive transits being built in Turkey and Front wheel drive in southampton it was what I was ledto believe by people who work for Ford I also believe the chassis cab might not be built in Turkey if you know different i would be interested to know as I also heard they are or are going to start building them in Poland and I personally believe some FWD are orr were built in Turkey and some of the early MK6 RWD in the UK and in the old plant in Belgium.

FWD and RWD are made at both factories. The only limiting factors are the fact that Southampton can not build anything larger than MWB Semi High.

Position 7 & 8 of the VIN number. 7 being the country and 8 being the assembly plant.
