no rear/side lights

Postby ozzylowe » Thu May 16, 2013 1:51 pm

Hi,
My 2003 MWB high top has lost rear running lights/ front sidelights, and after checking the bulbs/fuses and reading other posts I bought a second hand light switch, which either has exactly the same problem - or its something else.
Brakes, fogs, headlight, indicators work. Inside the switch the leds work to show lights off and the beam adjuster light, plus fog lights, but nothing on side or headlight. I no longer have front fogs after an incident with a deer led to a secondhand front end being fitted - the leads are just tied up out the way but I can't think that effects anything. Someone suggested joining the number plate light wire to the tailight wire - is that a good idea of will it overload the number plate circuit?
Any ideas before I take it to an autoelectrician?
Second fault - when i reverse and break i get the occasional loud clunk and the brake pedal jumps under my foot, the brakes then seem to require a couple of pumps to work properly again whilst going forward - I'm guessing seized rear adjusters - before i pull the drums off any other ideas?
Cheers
Chris

Had same problem caused by a short in the loom somewhere between rear lights and A pillar. Do a search..
