Mk6 starting problem

Postby uniscar » Sat May 18, 2013 2:53 pm

Hi ive got a 2002 mk6 2.0tddi. On a morning it turns over for quite a long time before it will start. It seems like it is getting no fuel but when it does fire there is no smoke at the back. Ive changed the fuel filter housing and heater plugs and the heater plug rail still the same. Any clues

Cheers Dominic

Mines started doing this. It was the battery that was failing.

does it go with a jump start

If the battery voltage goes below 9v it wont inject fuel

Hi the glow plug light goes out as it should and the battery was changed 6 months ago along with the earth lead under the seat. I dont need to bump it off as it eventually starts but its taking a long time. Once it starts it runs great all day
