Dropside tipper conversion

Hi everyone. I am considering having my 2004 swb 125 300 dropside converted into a tipper. First of all, i'm not even sure it's possible, although I have been told it is. Has anyone seen this done before or know of any firms that would do it? I have googled a few online but haven't actually enquired anywhere yet. Any advice would be gratefully received. Cheers.

yes its possible, for a 300 you'd be best working with alloy as steel wont give you much payload.
you just need a subframe bolted on top of your chassis, fit a pump and ram, need to make sure you get the measurements right between the ram and the rear tipping pins.
depending where you are in the country there are quite a few bodies for sale on ebay.
you'd be best getting a body off a crewcab as they will be the right length for a swb transit, one of a mwb single cab would give you quite a big overhang.

By far easier just fitting a tipping body from another transit. They arent expensive and would save an awful lot of fannying around!!
