Locking problem

Postby RPWC » Thu May 25, 2017 8:21 am

My van won't lock, the door open light is on ,even though all doors are shut firmly, each time I try locling it, it just opens again straight away and the horn sounds. Anyone else had this?

Check side door contacts or rear door looms where it goes through the plastic tubes.

I narrowed it down to the contact on the side door, as when I cleaned the contact, and sprayed the pins with wd40,it worked. It was ok for a few days, but been away and came to move it before, mwont lock again. Have removed loom plugs from the pin switch and contacts on the side door, no difference, is it worth taking the pin switch connector off the door? how do I get to it, as the door is nor accessible either closed or open, surely don't have to take the whole door off?

now sorted, it was a broken wire in the back door, at the end of the tube, as you said, an auto electrician friend said this is a common problem, and told me straight away where to look.
