NON STARTER

Postby MAMOOK » Thu Jul 20, 2017 11:53 pm

Hi All.

My 07 reg mk7 van had a light rear end shunt. It was parked up at the time with the rear drivers door open. The shunt buckled my door and hinges. Light damage at best. I moved the van 10 mins later up the road. An hour later It would not start, it would not jump (two attempts). Insurance company picked it up. I bought it back. It still will not start, will not jump start. Sounds like solenoids are clicking under bonnet.
I have upgraded the key fobs to the blue remote type, and I know these can be problematic at times.

Why will my van not start people. And how can I fault find and repair please?

Check all three fuse boxes and check the battery earth.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

You'll need codes read to find out what's amiss.

The remote key fob does not work. Important info I missed off the original post.

Right is yours a RWD van ? Check batteries under drivers seat I bet a lead or the front battery has died due to load area lights staying on , thus not allowing starter battery relay to work
