Constant burnouts

Hi I have a 3.2 lwb 350 mk 7 don’t Cary a lot of weight it has veridestine snow tyres fitted at present grip is pathetic what’s the widest tyre I can fit to standard steel wheels 16 inch on rear

you dont need wider tires, you need better ones.

From all accounts the early mk6 350 wheels are 6.5 rather than 5.5 so that might be an option if you really want to go wider.
& +1 as the dutch guy says, get better boots for what you want.

And or throw a couple or four 3x2 slabs in the back, worked wonders for our empty van

225s will be about the limit ,any wider and they will rub the chassis legs on full lock :wink:

I have 6j alloys on my lwb 3.2 and run Michelin Agilis tyres, I don't have that problem unless I put my foot down :lol:

I would also be looking at the tyre pressures as if they are set for carrying a full load then, that can cause the problem.

The solution to lack of rear traction in high PS LWB vans is to be found in the pedal on the right. Even with the best tyres it's going to spin the inside rear pulling out of junctions.
