So I am cautiously optimistic about the condition. It idles well, but I haven't yet taken it for a drive, since it needs to be inspected for a Roadworthy Certificate which is needed to transfer the registration.
Now, to my question. What sort of life expectancy can I anticipate with such a relatively high mileage motor? (Yes, I know it all depends) but I have seen them here on Gumtree etc with over 650K km on the clock and still going.
If I should be thinking of getting hold of a lower km motor, I would try to put the 3.2 in it (yup, have read that whole thread through).
Thoughts anyone?

the front panel is different. more protuding to make space for a bigger or additional rad/ or oil cooler imho.

Just a small update: I have taken it for a drive after flushing out the coolant system as best possible. When I returned and took off the oil cooler return hose, a lot of VERY grey water came out after I got it to normal operating temp, and the Morning Fresh has worked a treat. So much so, that it now has another lot in it flushing the remnants of the lovely grey sludge
Oil level hasn't dropped, engine seems to perform well, with no signs of smoke or sluggishness.
