MK7 Throttle Pedal

Postby t0m541 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 4:04 pm

Just a quick question really..
I'm looking to change the throttle pedal on my 2006 MK7 2.2 fwd, are the pedals all the same or do I have to get a matching part number.
The issue I'm trying to cure is the engine "lurching" at light throttle to slight acceleration.
It has new injectors etc and seems more prone when the van is cold/damp, didn't notice it doing it in the summer.
If I switch to cruise control whilst it's "lurching" it stops doing it and won't do it in cruise at the same revs/speed/load, which is why I suspect the throttle potentiometer is playing up.
I've perused eBay and there are loads, with a few from quite new vehicles but the numbers are slightly different, ie:- cb/cc/cd.
My one is a 6C11-9F386-CB 2006.
Cheers

The higher letters are a later revised version. They will fit and work

IDS has a throttle pedal test, I'd get that done before assuming the pedal is defective.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Very true, however, the thought of sitting outside in freezing temperatures wasn't very enticing, so I ordered the newest one I could find on eBay, brand new ones aside.
2013 on the sticker on the pedal in the photo in the listing....except the seller sent me a 2007 and looks in worse condition than the one in my van, no mention of (the item in listing is not the actual item), etc.
So no further forward.

A "new" pedal is the way to go, unless you're stuck in the middle of nowhere and only have access to a breakers..! Using a second hand one makes one wonder if it's actually worse than the one you removed. :?

Yes, you might be right.
Update on the "wrong" one I just received, the seller apologised and said that the photo in the listing was an old stock one and has given a full refund, so not too bad, might use the refund to get a new one, TPUK have them for £54
