Transit cuts out while driving 80 km

Postby Bobthebuilderswife » Sat Dec 16, 2017 11:42 am

Hi all hope you can help. Been reading posts but need advise. Bought 2005 transit t350 diesel cuts out while driving 80km serviced recently before i got her. Should i change the filters before i spend big bucks on fuel pump and injectors. Is there any other things i can do thanks

Get the codes read but I'll hazard a guess one or more injectors are shitting the bed. N

Unless someone has just put the grille badge on to stop the thieves it will have wires on the injectors  It will need the codes read and a leak off test on the injectors. As Ned said injectors most likely and pump :(

PF Jones is your friend for injectors new or reconditioned, a set of 4 recon injectors are aprox £480 plus you get £120 back for your old ones, mk6 135 tdci (&125 tdci) are known for injector issues.

Here's what I would do,

1, get the codes read,
2, injector leak back test,
3, a full service including a genuine ford fuel filter,

Checking wiring ect wont hurt but the codes will point you to the fault and save you a fortune in guessing the problem.

Where in this big bad world are you? Someone might be local to you who could help with the code reading. N
