ANyone got any tips on how to manually override the rear split door dead lock? I've had shitty central locking for months and can't find any cheap replacement lock mechanisms in Australia. The rear door has dead locked itself and I used to be able to unlock it by running 12v on the SLD loom contacts. Now it's not responding at all.

I'm thinking angle grinder

Have you checked the door looms?

You should be able to get into the door lock from the inside and power it open if the SLD is open.

I'd need to figure out which of the two looms is the right one and then which colour wires to add 12v to

So it's in it works and it's now wired to the dash
Currently working out where to tap into the blower power supply to run that from the aux bats when heaters on for defrosting.
Then it's just tidy up the wiring properly as it's a bit rough at the mo...
Might actually do a wee project thread if I can be enthused. Image

Nice 8). That ciggie lighter looks like it's always been there.

I wouldn't mind a nice toasty van on these chilly mornings.

All I've done to mine today is fit a pair of horns from a Mondeo as my original sounded like it was drowning after it got a good oiling when the oil feed hose to the turbo split

thanks mate this worked perfectly.

rear doors now back to how they were - only lock with the fob and refuse to unlock, SLD totally unresponsive. No way to lock it.

I've got in touch with a wreckers network to try and find a new SLD locking mechanism

I can’t justify the sale of our mk6 it pays for its self everyday tho there are repair bills but not expensive to resolve , always starts and drives fine and always gets your home even if a fault occurs , if I sold it I don’t know how much it’s honestly worth ? I’d rather keep it until it’s totally done , the tools and kit that it carry’s are worth more than the van, the other van drivers at the yard always compliment on how clean and presentable it is , it’s spotless for its age , it dose the same job as a custom tho image is a lo.. but it will never depreciate under 1k aslong as you keep it presentable tho you can get a custom for under 7k now
