ESP light

Postby markwatles » Thu Apr 19, 2018 7:22 am

Anybody know why ESP light would come on after driving approx ten miles? Resets after turning off ignition, then comes on after roughly same mileage. No effect on way vehicle drives, but don't like having lights on dash. (Mk7 58 plate 110bhp).

Have you replaced any tyres lately..?? Work done on the brakes etc..??

Is your steering wheel centered..??

No new tyres or brakes, steering wheel is slightly off centre though.

If that's the case you may need the tracking/wheel alignment done and the steering sensor re-calibrated via IDS.

Can the steering sensor be recalibrated with Forscan?

Probably, it’s a service function.

It will certainly give you a fault code

Wheels tracked and balanced today. Fault codes reset. Decided to remove EGR blank plate as love dash with no lights on. Runs sweet as ever. Will use Wynn's clean 3 to keep on top of EGR cleaning and hope for the best..
Thanks for all the advice.
