Washer Pump Fault

Postby dantranvan » Sat Jun 23, 2018 8:39 pm

Know it's not the fuse as a)I've checked it and b)I still get the wipers come on when pushing the button.
Is there any easy way of checking what is at fault out of the stalk, wiring and pump itself?

TIA

If the wipers are still coming on I'd say the stalk is working ok. I had a similar issue a little while ago and it was actually the terminals on the pump had rusted through and come off

Sometimes the pump water inlet clogs up with crud.

I fixed a mk7 and the fault was chaffed wires in the engine bay. Check for voltage at the pump when the stalks pushed

I'll have to dig the multimeter out

If this was the case, should I be able to hear the pump working when the button is pushed?

Aye...yes you should....so if you can't hear it, you must have a wiring or motor fault as the others have suggested.
