RADIO - Fader does not work

MK7 Chassis Cab, converted to Motorhome.

6000CD aka Visteon.

Being a chassis cab base, the radio does not have the facility of rear speakers and thus the Fader does not operate.
The wiring for rear speakers is present on the multi plug at the rear of the radio.

Does anyone know how I can get a 6000CD version with the extra amplifier so I can fit rear speakers?

Presumably a breaker would be the best/cheapest bet but I would need to know the exact model of the radio.

The fader needs switched on in the vehicles configuration on the body control module.

It is not part of the radio.


You will need access to diagnostic equipment to switch on.

Parameter codes for what..?? The radio will have it's own 4 digit code.

You need ids, possibly forscan would do it too?

You need access to module programming and then retrieve config, then modify and reinstall.
Simple enough if you have the gear.

Change speakers from 2 to 4 in the vehicle config as above

The difficulty for me is finding someone with IDS willing to do it.

The local Ford Stealer would not reprogram so that I could activate the heated mirrors which were factory fit but not working.
I fitted the necessary relay/switch and gave them the coding required.

They insisted it would mean altering the main config from chassis-cab to ordinary van.
They thought there might be loads of issues doing that, so refused.

Such is life - grrr.

If I connect speakers to the rear speaker output connectors will I get anything out?

Yes, the sound will come out, but be in controllable.
