battery drain overnight

after leaving battery disconnected all night last night I reconnected it this morning
started 1st time just fine,
have left it connected.........
if when I try to start it tomorrow morning (Monday) it will not start I will know for sure its not the battery but has some sort of parasitic drain on the battery
will update tomorrow

Andy, will try what you suggest tomorrow when I get my hands on a multi meter again

returned to van midday today after leaving the battery connected for 24h or so and it is flat
thus the battery is ok and not discharging itself or is in any way faulty

so I moved on to the next thing and disconnected alternator, but 0.31A still drawing
also disconnected the ignition but that made no difference also
started pulling fuses from fuse box under bonnet
one of the two yellow fuses at the top of the fuse box reduced the draw to NIL
started to feel about with random relays and the one marked with a blue dot in the picture was warm and clicking
replaced it with one of the other relays of the same type from in the same fuse box
no clicking and no draw
refitted relay back from where it had originally come from
went to fords bought a new relay and fitted it
RESULT..... no draw at all

now can anybody tell me what the two yellow fuses at the top of the fuse box are for and also the relay marked with the blue spot, which I replaced

appreciate all help and advice given as without it my van would probably have been in a garage to be repaired at considerable cost

MMMMMmmm strange ???
the two fuses don't seem particularly relevant to anything & I don't even think my van has a heated front screen (if it has I have never seen the switch for it or used it ??)
my fuse box layout looks a bit different to that of the schematic & I am still at a loss to what the relay I replaced is for

The two yellow ones up there are fuel pump, and engine management.

so maybe I am reading the schematic incorrectly

I posted that because I wasn't sure which fuses and relay you were referring to. You said the yellow fuses but were pointing at the space next to them.

One of the yellow fuses, and the relay marked with a blue spot, both protect the Engine Management

ah, engine management that's sounds more interesting
and the relay also............

well both of the yellow fuses at the top were ok and not blown or anything
and the relay with all its clicking sounded flaky
after trying the other relay and the draw still being 0.0A I decided to spend the £25 on a new relay
fitted it and all is working well at the moment
hopefully when I start the van up tomorrow the battery will be fine and the problem resolved

COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT THE HELP OF YOU GUYS ON HERE......... brilliant forum, long may it live

do relays just fail from time to time ? or is this a possible symptom of a bigger problem ?????

yellow fuses f21 is engine management also the relay as mentioned ,the other yellow fuse is fuel pump

£25 for a relay??? That would be free from the scrappers. £1 at the most glad you sorte tho

relay was bought brand new at ford main dealership

nearest scrappy from me is 15 mile away & to be honest I just wanted the simplest and quickest fix
my van is vital to everything I do from ferrying the kids around to earning a living so I didn't fancy using a used part
yeah I know £25 lot of money................. I will put it down as a tax write off with all the other repair expenses

just glad with you guys on heres help I got it resolved as these issues can become very expensive and lengthy to resolve

If it had had to go into a garage the bill would have probably totalled nearer £200 with VAT etc etc etc...........
I think I got off lightly with the help of you guys on here
