if the map sensor gets this dirty what does the inside of the intercooler get like? :shock:

Really should check mine, its done 60k.. Bet the EGR isnt too pretty either!

It'll be fine as the egr enters the intake air after the intercooler, infact just before the MAP sensor!

Visible smoke has not improved much, its not bad anyway, just a puff as it pulls hard on boost (its been remapped 800 miles ago),to be honest its not been driven hard in its lifetime, so this will improve over time, the idle is rock steady at 800rpm now, before it could be a bit inconsistent, its also crisper throughout the rev range.

is itjust a case of unplugging it removing 1 screw and pulling it out to get it out to clean it what did u use to clean the sensor

I used carburretor cleaner although you could use alcohol (not vodka) or contact cleaner, removed the excess first with a tooth pick and then blasted it. Idles amazing now, for a ten minute job its worth doing at every oil service. FWIW the MAF sensor was very clean,debating cleaning the EGR next.

cleaned mine today it was very dirty seems to of made it more responsive unless iam just imagineing it does cleaning it make it go better
