Its got me thinking alternator or pulley as I am having a strange electrical issue, with the lights on they dim with heated screen on or opening the window, closing the window takes forever unless I rev the engine a bit.

Had a quick look today and it looks an absolute nightmare on a fwd at least yours is easier to get too, the idler pulley doesn't sound too much of a job, is there any way of testing them :?: To be sure its that. N

Mine's a FWD as well Mate, haven't got around to looking at the manual to see what I have to take off to get at it

No idea how you'd check it either. On the Landie, I'd had the belt off to change the crank pulley (sh1te job that was too  ) and idler felt a bit floppy so I guessed and bought a new one and it fixed it......

Sorry, but that's not much help :(

I've got loads of jobs to do on it at the mo, oil, filters, PRV, SCV, front wheel bearing, not to mention sorting the bodywork out :(

Got home from my Norway road trip today! 4,000 miles 6,500 km in 3 weeks.

Never missed a beat. Did sound like a box of hammers when I started it at -15c though.

Bloody ford, don't even give you something to complain about!

Got any proof? :D

Well got the dash all together and gave it a good wash down and polish. Just need to sort that hi/low beam latching...
