Fitted new water pump on my Mk6 2.0 tddi 85, not done one on a diesel transit before, started at 9.30am had an hour chattin about 11am but finished the job around 3.30pm, I have to say the concensus on here to remove the front of the van was correct I'm not sure it would be an easy job with out the front off unless like some folks said yr an Octopus lol,,,,,, lots more work but deffo worth taking the front off, I did find a small lump of plastic stuck to the belt tensioner wheel so got that off with a dremmel sander tool and fitted a new belt, the pump was leaking a small amount out its seal to the power sttering pump and dribblin down onto the starter motor so hopefull avoided more problems later.
I think in the end the job was easier than anticipated

Fitted my new mega expensive aux drive belt (thank you Mr Ford  ) and new tensioner (thank you Mr TPUK, very reasonable :D )

Easy job as directed by #Loot and #Airthies, thanks guys :D

Old tensioner was fecked, so it was probably that squeaking, and fan belt was frayed in places  New I should have swapped it last year :D

anyway, no noise now :D :D :D 8)

Cursed it, hated it, loathed it and now feel numb!
Absolutely sick n tired of all the problems that can arise with the poxy emissions system. Theres a multitude of causes for anything to kick off the EML and a multitude of reasons why you cant always resolve it with garages
whethewr its the worry of being ripped off, fogged off, going round in a vicious circle of repetitive EML off shots.
For me, my immediate funds were limited but luckily a few weeks back I had the bucks to have my transit regen'd with a flush,, so I hope or think... EML stayed on, other fault codes crop up suggesting EGR or turbo issue and before long mega limp mode and just as I managed to pull in on a layby just one 5 second plume of greyish black thin smoke...kept it ticking over to inspect and all that was visible was the silencer box showing a few whisps of heat smoke not smoke smoke.... I revved the engine a tadge, no more smoke which stopped when I pulled in and she ran great, normal, no more limp mode.
From that point I instantly noticed the egr cleaning itself after switching off! thought that was for mk8's!
After a week limp mode came back and increased to the stage where a weird whooshing noise from engine bay. Took it back home and it was proper noisey. On inspection I found the top half of the exhaust with cat box, had a few splits on the wiremeshed bendy joint. Thought this was the cause so had it replaced myself but noise still there!!

Called RAC out to confirm cause, and he concluded from the turbo. Managed to source one and meanwhile removed old unit and dismantled to locate cause....
Turbines run smooth effortless with a miniature slightly noticeable shaft movement, but not enough to cause concern. No damage or scrapes from/on blades, all good checked oil feed was clear, fine, took apart electronic actuator and tested with a battery link and yep operates fine. The only thing I found but cannot express if its of relevance was what I thinks the wastegate link to turbo..found it stiff, sprayed with wd40 wiggled it and it now moves pretty well.
This may well be the problem where its stuck open or closed unsure, but either way I cant afford to hang on and had to order replacement turbo....
I may well of resolved the old turbo noise problem so I will have to take a positive if so that ive now got one spare...but Wednesday I find out when I fit new part!

I have been starting MK7 dash conversion, but I don't have Paul2012's modified wiring diagrams for the PATS, horn and airbag.

Has someone got them and could post them to here or to my PM box? As Paul's topic which was noted as a MK6/7 conversion "bible" has been deleted?! There was so much very handy information and now it's all gone!

No, unfortunately... That topic also had links to Paul deleted topic, Paul had said that he would post those diagrams also to collim's topic but he never did that :?

I have sent PM to Paul himself, but no answer yet.
