Bolted an Inverter in the cab....
Which leads to a question... can this be connected to the battery all the time?
Also I removed the radio to get the V number as I need the code.

If you mean connected even when the ignition is off then I would say not. Even with no load an inverter is going to be drawing current from the battery while connected.

dont want to start a new topic for this.

i am looking for a new/fresh gearbox. the second gear is starting to get really bad. lots of grinding teeth and when feathering it sometimes drops out with more grinding as a result.
i know the 6 speed is the same in final ratio but is that one less sensitive to the syncro eating itself?

also thinking of getting a 6 speed (if it fits) and pulling that apart and replacing the meshes before fitting it.

what gearbox model/type can a search for exactly? what cars are those boxes also used in?

If you're RWD, I have a 6 speed that's in good condition I was going to use to convert mine to 6 speed. It's about 20mm longer than the 5 speed, so you need to alter the prop.

Could be yours for a negotiated amount of beer tokens :D
