Battery is not being charged, I thought I could get home but apparently not. RAC guy says the altinator is dead. But he looked for the belt and then guessed, didn't put a meter on it.

Will pull the batteries and charge them at home, so I can drive it the rest of the way. Save paying for a tow.

Mr Haynes says the altinator is an easy job, is that right? Anything I should look out for?

RWD yes it is easy

Forgot that it wasn’t my mk7 that had heated jets, must have been the mk6and bit

So popped over to the breakers this morning and got a few bits and fitted them. :D

Are the heated washers just wired in to + and - . Or do they need a switch/relay?

Wired to the screen output, so only on when the screen is.

Figured, if I don’t need the screen? Then I won’t need the skooshers defrosted :D

Saw a smart repair guy parked at b&q today so got him to take a look at the scrape and he reckons it's too big for a smart repair.

I'll still pop into Vauxhall at some point though
