The Tourneo was getting to resemble a skip, with my 4 kids their friends all treating it like a wheelie bin with all their sweet wrappers, McDonalds toys and even the dog moulting.

I'm as much to blame I'm no angel, oil marks from me when I have just jumped in covered in oil and muck over the last 6 years, the vans never missed a beat in over 90,000 miles, she's towed the caravan, myself the family and dog for thousands of miles across the UK and France and never let me down so today I gave her a treat.

I removed all the seats but the drivers and gave it a really good hovering out next came the dash and all plastic panels cleaned and polished the van now smells fresh and clean and looks like new inside, I'll do the outside tomorrow.

Just a little tip here incase you don't know but the large middle bench seat in the mk7 mini bus (Tourneo) is reversible and can be turned around so all rear passengers can see and talk to each other great so kids can play games, kids love it as well just something different for them, I was thinking of turning it this time but refitted as standard forwards facing, I think the Mk5 maybe as well, but can't remember if I ever did turn it around....
It takes thousands of nuts to hold a Transit together but only one nut behind the wheel to distribute them all over the road...

One tip Punto, mostly the speakers are too big, not too small when they blow, breaks down like this...

More powerful speakers are heavily constructed and need more power to move the cone as fast, cause it's heavier, and produce the same sound volume.

This means you're pushing your amp hard. When the amp is pushed, it distorts with sharp points in the output, not a smooth waveform. This is what damages the speakers.

It's pretty much impossible to blow speakers with too much power, they just stop responding more as you ramp up the power, and you'll lose the high frequency. I've seen 50w amps and 20w speakers 20 years old when I was in the electronics business.

I suggest getting lower power speakers, matching the amp or 20% below. You'll get more volume too. Counterintuitively, the bigger the speakers you buy, the more likely you are to break them.

Removed ply bulkhead and started deep cleaning exercise on cabin mats, dash and upholstery.
Added extra lighter power socket and killed my bluetooth transmitter 'cos I accidentally reversed the polarity.

Replaced worn key and got a spare cut. Discovered key didn't fit lock. Got new door and bonnet lock barrel cut to key.
Replaced door lock (with no drilling, yay!) and bonnet lock. Replaced knackered grille.

And they blew up? That's strange.

Was it both of them at similar time? Would point to the amp.

Or could be manufacturing fault... Are they still under warranty? No idea if that would be covered.

90% of my horns wired in just earth and live to connect up an then...........the big test, I can see 4 outcomes,
1, the horn works perfectly and the neighbours complain
2, it doesn't work at all and I have to start again
3, it works but doesn't turn off and I end up with a mix of kids wanting ice cream and workers wanting hot food.
4, all goes to rat sh*t, the van sets on fire and only the engine survives :(

Think I'll let one of the kids test it so I can blame them for whichever outcome it is   N
