Yep mk7 5sp fwd selector will fit the mk6 box. :D it did on mine and loads of others! Dash conversions no a hard/bad job. You can get it so its drivable in about 3 hours. The little bits take a bit of time, but worth spending a bit of time to get right! :D

yeah as punto says its the same, did mine ages ago no problems at all, just fiddly make the speedo fit had to cut the dash plastic to get mine to fit.

just bought a 2004 rwdmotorhome and thinking of changing this to mk7 dash but does anyone no if the cables and turret are needed, i think the cables will be longer but i dont no if you have to change the turret/selector onthe rwd box, anyone???

The metal bracket on gearbox that holds gear cables is it different on the mk7 to the Mk6 fwd as just fitted dash and was about to tackle gears ive changed turret over but cables don't line up it looks like the mk6 bracket needs to set back about 1 inch or so

Never had a problem on mine, other than they were a bit tight to go in.

Is there a way I can identify cables ie fwd rwd 5 or 6 speed as I might have been sent wrong cables
