How much should side loading door open

Postby Harley59 » Sun May 12, 2013 7:29 pm

My 2003 transit minibus sliding door only opens half way before door stop at the top hits the side of van stopping it open fully. The runner for sliding door runs along side of van almost to the rear. Am i missing something and it should open fully. Also there is only 1 rubber stop ob doir which is bolted to top. Should there be 1 in the middle

Thanks very much. That was so quick to answer. Do u know about adjustment? I pulled in bottom of door on bottom slider but then it hit the two stops on slam post. Do i have to let top runner out, im worried that if top of door sticks out rain will come in. Should i try to adjust or leave well alone
Thanks in advance

Yes
should be one in the middle. As for adjustment leave well enough alone if its reasonably flush. should be 6mm all round AFAIK.

Doesn't the lower roller location prevent it sliding back fully anyway?

It is bolted to the middle of the door rather than the leading edge so don't think it'll work

The doors were restricted BECAUSE they have seats there. It's to prevent folks falling out.
Yes, you COULD take the stops off, they only bolt on after all, but may be sued if anyone is hurt...
If you have twin doors, it's NOT a Ford interior, but a conversion with Ford approval. Bit like the tippers.
I wrote the book, once.

Its also to stop folk gawping in at the dude on the single seat by the door. LDV's used to have a "modesty panel" by the seat there :P
