mk 7 flat bed ?

Postby phoenix123 » Mon May 20, 2013 10:58 pm

hi

i have just purchased a 6 meter long flat bed with 75K on clock on a 57 plate 100BHP

just a couple of queries,

1 its a little rattly until warm is this normal or should i be taking back to garage to look at it ?

2 when clutch is depressed the revs drop the come back to tick over is this normal ?

also is thereanything i should be aware of with this engine or need to do to ensure all is good?

a small amount of noise when cold is normal but a distinctive rattle could be worn timing chain/ tensioner/ guides.
usual things on these are software related/egr/ pressure relief valve/ inlet metering valve/ dying batteries.
clutch has a switch on it so revs do fluctuate when you press it( more so when the pcm has Been updated)
