2.4 duratec, rwd, lwb, 07 altenator problem

Postby tomo320 » Tue May 21, 2013 11:29 am

Hello,
Could anyone help me get the altenator belt off please, there has been a long power steering fluid leak and the altenator is full of fluid and the batteries are draining.

I can see the tensioner with a 13 mil nut is there any other nuts that need releasing to let the tension off the belt?

When all is back together again will it tension back up on it's own?

Many thanks,

Paul.

At the back off the tensioner their is a square hole a 3/8 ratchet fits in perfect that's how it's done the bolt is to take the wheel off

If you have a feel around the back of it you will find it it's on fan side

It a self tensioner as well so when you putting back you might need another pair off hand to put the belt over the tensioner as so one has the tensioner UN tensioner it that makes sense

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAND-NEW-TEN ... 2ec72ad21a
click the link it shows a picture of tentioner and you can see the square hole where you put socket bar in just release tention by pushing bar anti clockwise
take a note of where belt feeds rounds pulleys before you take belt off
